Regards to the GE Corporate Mac team, we work with the tools and technology that employees at GE use across the globe every day. We would like for you to help us with the ongoing support for the Mac@GE users community.

Your work in this role could be focused for assisting customers with technical issues or questions relating to Mac hardware or software devices. This includes working on service tickets, chatting with customers via messaging platforms.

Students working with us will be expected to act like a consultant to help us improve our processes and technology. Depending on the skills of the student we would also have an opportunity to evaluate the architecture and design of our tools and we are constantly looking for ways to improve with existing or new technology.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Mac team to resolve technical issues including root cause analysis
  • Improve operations and infrastructure related to the application and associated business processes
  • Provide technical expertise to enable new implementations and ongoing improvements to the Mac end user experience
  • Apply compliance policies, precedent, and experience to make complex decisions
  • Take duties around reporting
  • Proactively learn new tools

In this role, you will need the following basic qualifications:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proactively learn new tools under your own initiative
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills are a must
  • Able to successfully interact with all levels of the organization including end users
  • Strong work ethic & desire to learn
  • Ability to explain computer concepts/procedures to non-technical internal customers. 
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other team members to track, isolate and resolve technical issues.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; speak fluent English 
  • Self-motivated and ability to work under minimal direction

Desired Technical Skills:

  • Operating Systems: Mac OS 10.x and greater
  • familiarity with programming languages Bash/Shell Script, python (advantage) 
  • Experience with M365 toolset such as outlook, Teams, OneDrive

Additional Technical Areas which you may learn during the internship:

  • Experience with Apple Device Management technologies such as Jamf
  • Partner with product teams to plan and test automation solutions
  • Provide apple device management (MDM) support for Mac OS end points
  • Participate in new technology pilots and programs to ensure end-user support readiness for go-live. Able to work under minimal supervision
