Computer Science Bsc (in English)
Duration: 6 semesters
Tuition Fee: 1900 EUR/semester (for applicants from outside the EU)
Head of School: Márton Frits, PhD
The aim of study is to train computer scientists who are able to develop, install, maintain and operate software oriented IT tools and systems, perform and coordinate research and development activities. They are also provided with appropriate basic theoretical knowledge to continue their studies at MSc level.
Main topics of study
- mathematics and computation (linear algebra, discrete mathematics, the theory of computation, applied mathematics, data structures and algorithms, software technology)
- professional core courses (information technology, programming, web programming, advanced programming techniques, java programming, operating systems, computer networks)
- optional professional subjects.
The students also become experienced in project- and team-work working with numerous R&D activities of the faculty with top international companies, and may be involved in research activities. The R&D areas of the faculty include several aspects of IT security, medical informatics, systems engineering, lighting technologies, image processing, info communication technologies, sensor networks, controlling and optimizing systems.

The PhD degree at the Faculty is a taught degree. PhD students must carry out research on an individual basis under the guidance of a professor. Having a new scientific result, they must present it at national and international conferences, furthermore, they have to take part in project works. In order to obtain PhD degree students are required to have at least two publications in refereed international journals. For more details see the homepage of the doctoral school.
