Interview with Shahram Shafie, Chief Technology Officer for Green Source Holdings, who says even human resource management can use p-graph.

The Kansas State University professor visited  a P-graph conference by Faculty of Advance Technologies in Veszprem, Hungary.

New experiences…”

It was a very useful conference with all the people actively involved and interested in the P-graph. We had all the people active in the area and not all of them had background knowledge in engineering or in informatics, therefore their approach toward P-graph is totally different. I never had that experience before so it was interesting to me.

Solve the network…”

In everyday life p-graph can help to totally maximize city traffic system. For instance in Veszprém you have music festivals in the summer that brings lots of people into one location of the town. By estimating the number of people who have come to the festival and using P-graph we can make all the roads in one direction with getting out people really quick. Even human resource management can use p-graph, just by putting mathematical values and level of activities for each person. By solving the network you can figure out who is overloaded or not having enough assignments.

“Different approaches…”

One of the main benefits of the conference was that we could see all the active people from the area in one place – not all of them had for instance engineering background, therefore their approach to p-graph is totally different. It was interesting to me, because while working with Ferenc Friedler, Botond Bertok and their team we were all thinking and looking into the same direction.

Diversity is really important…”

The future of p-graph brings more diversity through people from different fields. Most importantly they have to understand the concept. For example if traffic engineers come to the understanding of the p-graph, they can do a better job. We can create a training material as a starting point, we just need to simplify the language which is now very mathematical.

“Failure is essential…”

Failure is an essential part of work, like when you are riding the bike and fell down. It is part of the nature. When a baby starts walking and falls its an obvious part of the process, you never tell the baby “you cannot walk because you fell down”. We learn from the mistakes and the next work is better than the first one.
