Dr. Cecília Sikné Lányi, a program scientist and mathematician, earned her degree from József Attila University in Szeged, followed by a teaching certificate in mathematics, a PhD, and a habilitation qualification. 

In 2022, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences recognized her scientific work with the title of "MTA Doctor." Since 1987, she has been a lecturer at Pannon University and its predecessor, the University of Veszprém, and is currently a professor at the Faculty of Information Technology Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Systems. As head of the 3D Virtual and Digital Environments Research Laboratory, she researches the educational and rehabilitative applications of multimedia and virtual reality.

Her scientific oeuvre is marked by some 620 scientific publications, a cumulative impact factor of nearly 100, and more than 1,200 independent citations. She has helped hundreds of students and several doctoral candidates in their scientific careers, while also serving to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities through her work.

Her dedicated work has inspired not only the scientific community, but also generations of students and colleagues. Her professional and personal example has had a profound impact on the community of Pannon University for many years.
