Complex Industry 4.0 solutions are developed that help in optimization of production workflows, automates production management and finally, increase the effectiveness and reduce the work intensity.

The R&D activities have resulted in the development of optimization methods and software for specific vehicle, personnel, financial allocations achieving substantial savings. Efficiency analyses have been performed related to modern logistics ID systems.

  1. Development of image processing, lighting and virtual reality based systems
    1. Renewed interior lighting of the Sistine Chapel

The aim of the EU-funded project was to prove that the illumination of museum by using good quality energy saving LEDs could be realized. The project was implemented in the Sistine Chapel, one of the ten most visited museums in the world, in the Vatican.

    1. HI-LED – Human centric Intelligent LED engines for the take up of SSL in Europe

HI-LED project aims at implementing SSL-based spectrally tunable light sources, whose spectral content can be dynamically adapted, by means of close-loop monitoring and complex algorithms, to different application fields human-centric lighting, horticulture and museum.

    1. Dynamic reconstruction of a 3D spatial database of road objects with a distributed multisensor system

The project develops vehicle sensors and processor hardwares to produce and process multisensor recordings. This can reconstruct the exact, object-level, updated three-dimensional representation of the road environment.

  1. Development of IT based healthcare solutions

The main target of the project is to research the feasibility of implementation and the usable architecture of a medical information management and decision support system, handling all information of patients and health institutions, which provides higher effectiveness in medical treatment (covering the whole healthcare chain, including sectorial decision-makers, leading medical doctors and other health workers) and, moreover, it ensures a more cost-effective operation and possibility of more active participation of the patients.

    1. Healthcare Business Analytics Research

The goal of the research is to perform healthcare analyses, develop optimized solutions and healthcare information systems, which are based on the exploitation of the healthcare data assets. To explore the knowledge in the data, we use the most dynamically developing discipline of information technology, namely the data science and the toolkit provided by the operations research.

    1. Developing cloud-based intelligent IT services

Working in consortium with IBM, the main aim of the project was to develop cloud-based solutions to issues related to urban administration, intelligent public utilities, business analytic and mobile labor force management.

    1. Development of SmartCity and SmartVillage technologies and services at Sagemcom

An intelligent platform will be developed that will enable higher and cheaper services in the field of energy management. Thanks to the project, the energy supply of underdeveloped settlements with limited electricity can improve, and the metering and distribution efficiency in metropolitan infrastructure may increase.

    1. Designing and optimizing the modernization and efficient operation of energy supply and recovery systems using renewable energy sources and infocommunication technologies

The primary aim of the subproject for the research of energy efficiency of energy supply systems is to broaden the management theory and electrical engineering toolkit needed for the use of electricity from renewable sources through modeling, identification, regulatory planning, measurement engineering and design tasks.
